As part of this acquisition, the Washington Business Journal reports that the current employees of the information security firm will join 10Pearls’s current staff in Northern Virginia. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. In light of infrastructure liabilities like the Heartbleed bug, as well as the recent security breaches at Snapchat, eBay, Target, and even more recently the briefly popular Yo, securing data has never been more vital. Especially now, with the nascence of the Internet of Things, 10Pearls believes that security needs to be a top priority in the development process. With the acquisition of Gemini Security, that data security is made essential throughout the entire process of development – built into the software architecture – rather than simply being an afterthought.
