One thing is for sure, hackers are going to continue to cause chaos for businesses and our government for personal or political gains. It means the next wave of cybersecurity experts need to be extra vigilant to maintain the security of our nation’s data. From the battlefield to the ballot box, experts are witnessing a new generation of strategic war games, and the government and other agencies need companies to help decipher and develop the latest technology. And to help in this effort, there is funding available to get companies rolling. Wherever you are in the country cybersecurity will be a discussion point for the tech scene. Next spring at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2018 one of the proposed panels will address the state of cybersecurity in the US and emerging startups. Titled “War Games: From Battlefield to Ballot Box” and composed by Arlington Economic Development, the panel will feature Timothy Evans, Vice President, Chief of Strategy Adlumin, Robert Johnson, former leader of the Red Team of US Cyber Command, Ann Cox, Program Manager/Mathematician, Department of Homeland Security: Cyber Security Division and Victor Hoskins, Director of Arlington Economic Development. The panel will help tech companies take advantage of new technologies to help ensure system security, unveil how startups and the government/military are working together to maximize strategy and safety, and teach startups the best way to utilize their cybersecurity platforms for maximum success.
