The service will cost designers $350 a year to participate in the program, but allows for an unlimited number of clients under that service fee. Ecwid is taking the the hands-off approach, and has no interactions between designer and clients. Designers brand the platform as they see fit and handle pricing and billing. With that $350 maintenance fee, designers will get regular updates, both for new features and security, from Ecwid. There are multiple tiers with the Jumpstart program, from a 5- item store all the way to an unlimited option. The designer will pay the wholesale prices for these tiers and then bill their clients accordingly, based on what they consider to be a fair price. Built with designers in mind who are managing multiple clients, all client plans can be accessed from one central control panel and changes can be made from there. On the client-side, controls panels are accessed through a brand-neutral portal, or through the designer’s domain. Clients will never interact with Ecwid.

While there are other platforms that allow for reseller-type programs, Ecwid’s price point seems to be much more manageable and obtainable for small and medium business owners. The service is not for everyone, and the yearly fee makes it where smaller designers may have a hard time justifying the service, but for studios and freelancers looking to offer yet another bullet point in their list of services, the Jumpstart Partner Program has a place.
