The company reckons that dim displays are one of consumers’ biggest gripes with new laptops, and has sought to rectify the issue with seven new laptops. Costing between €899 (~$995) and €1,499 (~$1660), the laptops all promise displays that can manage up to 500 nits of brightness — typical laptops get between 200 and 350 nits. Lenovo announced updates to loads of its Yoga and ThinkBook laptops, but these are our top picks. The Yoga C940 looks set to be a strong choice for on-the-go workers with up to 17.5 hours battery life, and an unsurprisingly bright 500 nit 4K display. From 2020, it’ll also come with Alexa pre-installed, if you like that kind of thing. The keyboard, for a laptop so thin, is pleasing to use with a good bit of travel — no MacBook Pro issues here. There was a little flex in the chassis, but nothing too major. We’ll have to wait and see whether it’ll live up to its battery life claims — our brief hands-on time wasn’t nearly enough to test it. As with all Lenovo Yoga laptops with the C-prefix, it’ll fold all the way round, so you can use it as a tablet. The C940 is available in 14″ and 15″ versions, and starts at €1,499. You can buy it now, if your pockets are deep enough. The Yoga C940 Despite weighing just 1.35 KG, the C640 manages to eke out 20 hours of battery life, according to Lenovo. It also comes with the latest tenth-gen Intel Core processors — presumably though, you don’t get the full 20 hours of battery in its most powerful configuration. It’ll hit the shelves in October. The Yoga C640 You’ll get the latest Intel Core processors for some extra zip and, of course, a 500 nit 4K display for the 15-inch model. The 14-inch has to make do with a Full-HD display, but it’s still pretty nice. The Yoga C740 There’s an optional 4K screen, with 500 nits brightness, tenth-gen Intel Core processors, a depth-sensing web cam, and Lenovo promises 14 hours of battery life. It’ll cost you, though, with prices starting from €1,399. It is available now in either a 14- or 15-inch configuration. Read more of the latest tech news on Tech.co
