MACH37 is an accelerator located at the Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon, VA. The incubator program is a 90-day affair and is aimed at developing the next generation of information security product companies. On top of mentoring and various programming, each startup will receive $50,000 upon completion of the program. The five cybersecurity startups in MACH37’s second class include: Axon Ghost Sentinel provides decentralized security solutions for mobile devices, mobile ad-hoc networks, and enterprise networks....

In a letter penned to the companies yesterday, Carr expressed concerns over TikTok’s Chinese control and handling of sensitive US data, citing a report containing leaked audio recordings that was released last week. According to a proposal from the Tor Project’s meeting in Stockholm earlier this month, some engineers are planning to bring the Tor browser’s extra security and privacy to Firefox. To that end, First Opinion today announced that they have successfully closed a Series A funding round, bringing in $6 million in total. The participating investors included Polaris Partners, True Ventures, Felicis Ventures, Scrum Ventures, and Monashees Capital. In addition to this funding round, First Opinion has raised $2.6 million in seed funding, bringing their total investment amount to $8.6 million. First Opinion offers an alternative to the time and cost associated with unnecessary visits by offering users 24-hour access to trained physicians via text messaging....

According to CNBC, Fitbit’s IPO is on track to be one of this year’s top 10 stock market debuts. By 10:45 AM ET today, more than 30 million of the company’s shared had already been traded. Initially, Fitbit had had priced its IPO at $20 a share – a day after it had just raised its IPO range between $17 and $19 per share.
