It’s surprising that there aren’t many more online companies in Brazil that deliver beauty services given the market’s demand for beauty service. According to Forbes, Brazilians’ per capita spending on beauty and personal care products is around $260 a year. According to Euromonitor 2013, it represents 58% of the Latin American beauty and personal care market. The service is available via their website, with an app launch coming soon for both iOS and Android. According to statistics, consumers in Brazil spend more than 27 hours per month online using a desktop computer (global average: 24.7 per month). Furthermore 23.3%  of Brazilians use their phones to access the internet. Although the $42 billion beauty market operates based on word-of-mouth recommendations and ongoing relationships, the increasing number of smartphone users brings an opportunity for companies like Vaniday. It not only targets customers looking for services but also professionals looking for exposure. Image Credit: Quinn Dombrowski on Flickr
